O.Berk Company Donates Hand Sanitizer Packaging to City of Newark.

Union, NJ, April 27, 2020 - O.Berk Company, a full-service supplier and distributor of glass and plastic containers, closures, pumps and sprayers, has donated a supply of foamer pumps and bottles for use with hand sanitizer to the city of Newark’s first responders to support their efforts in combating the COVID-19 outbreak.

Working tirelessly to ensure the community’s safety day-to-day during these unusual times, Newark’s first responders will use the donation to fill bottles with hand sanitizer to avoid contracting any germs or illnesses while on duty. It is our pleasure to help the city of Newark’s first responders protect their community by helping them know that they are well protected too.

Newark Fire Department Deputy Chief James Costa expressed his gratitude, “This is so important to our operations, it helps our Police and Fire Departments be able to keep responding.”

In a time when demand for hand sanitizer packaging has soared due to concerns over COVID-19, John Zripko, O.Berk Company’s Vice President of Sales saw the opportunity to direct the supply to where it would benefit the community most.

In 1910, Osias Berk founded the company that still bears his name. The company was located in Newark, NJ and its customer base consisted mostly of chemical plants along the Passaic River and food suppliers, such as pickle packers, in the city’s Iron Bound section. O.Berk is thankful for the opportunity to give back to the Newark, New Jersey community and support our first responders.
