It's everywhere. You see it in our home. You see it at businesses. You even see it in your car. Or, more precisely, you see through it! What is it you may ask? It is glass!

Glass as we know it has been around for many centuries. In fact, the earliest known discoveries of glass can be dated back to 1500 BC, when the ancient Egyptians were the first to make glass. But, other similar forms date back as far as 3100 BC.

While the technology on how glass is made has improved in time, however the basic concept has not drastically changed. And, glass is still used in a variety of areas. Glass is used in automobiles, in homes, as drinkware and others. In addition, stained glass is a type of glass that is used as a decorative glass in churches, as art and homes.

As a guide to learning more about the history and origins of glass, we have gathered the following information. We hope that this information is helpful in learning more about the history of glass.
